Don't get me wrong I love, love, love 3-day weekends! It's just a rough start to my week beginning with my students on a Tuesday. Tuesdays are my longest days with no breaks in them. I was running around frantically trying to get math and homeroom homework copied, along with all the other weekly work. It's so funny how 5th graders are on top of everything and they know when you do not have it together!
"Mrs. Davidson, aren't you going to pass out homework now?"
"Mrs. Davidson, aren't we going to work on geography now?"
"Don't we need to do (insert school work) now?"
I love them, but sometimes the questions drive me crazy! Today was definitely a day where I had to breathe and take it one minute at a time. Nice thing is it is already Wednesday.
But it is also times like these where I don't want to be counting down to the weekend. I love my job and I really want to make a difference in these students lives and help them develop a love of learning!!
We need to dive back into hands-on "constructivist" learning! I'm glad to start teaching science again this week.

Teacher's Worst Nightmare!
The funniest thing happened to me this morning. Previous to this month, I have been in the habit of waking up at 5am to exercise. Since I ran the marathon in December, I've been having a hard time getting back into the routine. However, I was determined to go to the gym this morning. Laid out my workout clothes, packed my lunch, packed my clothes for work, etc.
Beep! 5am, hit the snooze like I normally due....only I have assumed I hit it off! I woke up at 8am to the sunlight!! This is the first time that this has ever happened to me! I've had the normal freak out moments on the weekends, when I forget that it is the weekend. But this was the first actual I slept in! School begins at 8:15am.
Crisis was adverted, luckily I live 10 minutes away. Our gracious vice-principal stepped in for me and I arrived, unshowered, but put together by 8:30! I'm sure those of you who are teachers, know the panic. I just thought it was too funny that the morning after I start my blog, I truly had an unforgettable, funny event occur!
Anyway, I'm on a prep and I need to get back to grade a huge science posttest. Luckily the students are doing well! Hooray! :)

Beginning of a Blog?
So I'm attempting to begin a blog on my job/life! Last year at this time, I started a fitness blog, but after the first blog, I never posted again. Yikes! I think the subject was too difficult to blog consistently.
This blog is going to be a place where I will organize my thoughts, my findings of interesting websites, book reviews, and anything else I need. Often times, I'm researching different lesson ideas and I'll find some good resources. However, I then lose the information and never return to the website that I thought was a great resource. My hope is that blogging about these will also be a way of keeping track.
I'm also mulling over starting a classroom website and/or blog. There is so much out there, at times it is overwhelming! I'm not sure where to start. To help my decision, I decided that starting my own blog will help me feel comfortable with this process.
There are many teaching blogs that I'm beginning to follow and be inspired from! I am truly amazed by what teachers are doing in their classrooms to make an impact in their student's lives.
I'm excited to see what this will turn into! Will I post for a second time??? To be continued...
